Hi EveryOne,

I am glad to share with you that I have been accepted to participate in
Google Summer of Code 2009 with *'The Codehaus'* under the supervision of *Ralf
Joachim* .

To introduce myself, I am doing Erasmus Mundus MSc in Network and E-business
centered computing since Oct-2008. Previously I was research fellow for one
year at European Organization for Nuclear Research, CERN Switzerland. As a
CERN Fellow I worked with Monte Carlo (MC) development team of CMS
Experiment at CERN which is working on design and implementation of the new
CMS Tier0 system, ProdAgent. During my stay at CERN I got selected for CERN
school of Computing (CSC-08 Norway) and attended under full scholarship. Before
joining CERN, I worked as Research Associate in IEPM (Internet End to End
Performance Monitoring) project being conducted in collaboration with the
Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, USA and National University of Sciences
& Technology, Pakistan.

In GSoC 2009, I am looking forward to contribute in Castor Project. The
abstract of the proposed project is:

"Castor is an Open Source data binding framework for Java. It provides
Java-XML binding and Java-SQL Persistence etc. The object query language
supported by Castor is very limited. Castor uses descriptor classes at every
step of query construction and for fetching of results which is an overhead
and second problem is to keep the SQL column list passed, to be in
synchronization with the sequence of columns in the Resultset. To address
these problems, there is a need to standardize the query engine. "

I will try to keep myself in touch on the mailing list and will ask about
your kind support and help in case of any problems during the project
development.

Thanks.

Best Regards, Ahmad

Welcome, Ahmad. Nice to have you on board.

Given that we have two students working on the persistence side of
things this year with GSoC 2009, I guess we'll need some more
coordination across the four of us (yourself, Lukas, Ralf and myself).

Sounds like a lot of fun to me ....
